New Server, 1x 1TB, raid0, 2x Logical Drives

Team,

I am building a net-new system. I have a server with 1x 1TB drive installed. I would like to split the drive into 2 logical drives under the systems ACU setup (array configuration utility)... Drive1 for 10Gb to install ESXi 5.1, and remaining space for second logical drive to place datastore(s) for vm files. Keeping the install and file space separate.

When I ran the ACU on a brand new drive / system, I created 2 logical drives, 10GB and second logical drive using remaining space. Ran the installer for ESXi 5.1 via DVD, thinking it will install on the first logical drive... But after the setup, I think the installer took my drive(s) and repartitioned the 2 drives back to one...

Is there a way to setup the 1TB drive so ESXi 5.1 will install on the smaller 10GB drive and see the secondary to create the data store?

Thanks in advance, I have gone over the manual many times, can't figure this one out...

Installing on drive is fine, as I have 2 systems in rack, and replication, redundancy, backups etc will be in place. USB, card etc not necessary as I want system secured and locked down
