I have one more question regarding this subject based on recent experience:
I have managed to make Mapped RAW LUNs on Virtual Machines, to connect to my Fibre SAN, on 1 of my 2 ESXi Physical Machines. On these first machines i made new virtual disks to store their data.
On the other ESXi host i have made RAW Mapped LUNs that connect to these same virtual disks, on the same Fibre SAN. These connections are made by using the same SCSI bus for both involved machines, but seperate SCSI busses? for the different (multiple) mapped LUNs. this works perfectly in combination with Failover Clustering.
Now my question is as following:
Since you need to use seperate busses? for multiple mapped LUNs, you only have access to 4 of these shared disks if i am correct? (only 4 are unique; 0:0 / 1:0 / 2:0 / 3:0). These busses? are also shared over ALL hosts on that ESXi machine. So basically this means that i can only create 4 of these "shared" disks for all my machines?
Is this right or is there some other option i oversaw?
